Mike Awesome job with the web tutorial on Ubercart. You ralely gave a great break-down of the basics of the great Ubercart. I'm just starting out using this great Drupal "module" (its almost a separate system by itself) and it has helped so much for a project at work. Thanks again. ~ Brian

Hi there! great tut. One question and I'm not sure if anoyne has encountered this.I set up a webform on my drupal site and when I hit submit it prints out the array of information instead of the message or redirect(which I tried as well). I saw on Drual that another user had this problem but was directed to disable the debug portion. Well i did that but still having problems. I was just wondering if anoyne had this situation at one point or another and would so kind to help. Thanks!

I also use page.tpl.php to for custom Google AdSense ptceemanls. You can place them via the Advertisement block, but where it can place one is fairly limited. I put mine right below this line (using the Garland theme as an example):That puts it in a handy spot right above the content on any page. I use the 468 x 60 banner, as most of my visitors run their monitors at 1024 x 768. That width spans the middle of my three columns w/o any layout issues. It's a little narrower than my middle column, so I drop it inside a paragraph tag with the align= center attribute ('cause I'm old-school like that).

  • New features in Drupal 6 (updated!)   34 weeks 3 hours ago

in my original acrltie, Drupal looks like it can do everything I need and had load of plugins to extend functionality. So why learn lots of systems? That's a good point about administration for clients - Typo3 looks cool at first because of its complicated back end, but after a while, you find it hard to do anything, then you hear from others that a simpler system can do it all and more!

I agree with you that Drupal is only for the hardcore PHP porerammgr. I've used Joomla and WordPress and Drupal is overkill unless you are building custom apps. WordPress is the best for the time and outsource investment, hands down.

Drupal is definitely the top dog of the CMS world when it comes to caozsmitution. Drupal 7 brings a much more intuitive user-interface with better in-browser editing controls to allow you to edit any section of a website, not just the defined content region. We build websites with WordPress, Drupal and custom CMS sites frequently. If the requirement is to just be able to edit content, add an image to a gallery or add the occasional new page then WordPress or a custom CMS is the way to go. If you need a system to manage more (custom google maps, full eCommerce, custom tracking, multi-user accounts with varying access levels), Drupal is the best choice. I agree that using Drupal can be daunting at times, but one hour of good training is all you need to be able to have an extremely flexible platform. You mentioned indexing problems, and I can say we've never had any issue with that on the 50+ Drupal sites we've built and manage for clients. The auto-XML sitemap submission to Google is a great feature lacking from Joomla and WordPress. Abomination is a bit strong and conveys you've never used Drupal to it's full potential.

  • Drupal Ubercart Video Tutorial 2 of 2: Selling File Downloads and Node Access   1 year 3 weeks ago

Hey, thanks for the tutorial. Funny how you used Manitoba as that's where I'm at. The rest of the topics look good, I've bookmarked the site.

    Two questions..
1 - you mention doing a redirect to the file downloads section, if you purchase a file. I can't figure that one out -- both where to put the redirect action, or what URL to use (the user-id token doesn't always work when linking to a url for "user/[user-id]/file-downloads".
It would be great to have a new BLOCK show up for users with file downloads, but I haven't seen that feature available anywhere.

2 - any idea on having files streamed rather than downloaded? We are selling some online courses, and it would nice to have them streamed, but the file download module forces the download. I've looked around, and others have requested this feature, but I didn't see anyone with a functional work-around.

Form there are fields type. Do you have links or some ufsuel information that at what time this type of information will be used ? Like if i am creating First Name than i will use textfield and for Date of Birth i will use date. I hope my question is clear.and keep this good work.
